Hi there guys...........I have a challenge with outlook 2007. It is taking a long time to access my email folders on the left hand side of outlook. For example if I am in the inbox folder and need to go to sent items it takes around 8 seconds for the contents of the sent items to "load" and appear in the sent window on the right hand side. This lag in time when changing folders is consistant across all my folders (inbox, deleted, sent, draft, junk email etc) whether they have any contents or not. while changing from one folder to another the right hand side window has the message "Loading..." which appears for approximately 8 secs on every requested folder change. Can u help?
    :)

How about compacting them? It just might help. (You would have been better off posting in software forum ;) Welcome centre is just a welcome centre.)

Im sorry about posting in the wrong area, im new at this and not really sure how to post properly just yet..... As per the link that you supplied I compacted my PST files but not my OST files. For OST compaction I did not have "Microsoft Exchange Server" option in my Account Settings. Having done the PST compaction there is still no change to the lag time. Is there something else I need to consider? I'm starting to think it may be a registry issue :confused

I have managed to find the answer to my problem. The slow lag time between switching from one folder to another was due to installing update KB2412171. When I removed the update my outlook 2007 was restored to its perky self, and the Earth began to turn again. This article helped me http://www.officeforlawyers.com/outlook/tips/2412171.html
