Outlook 2007

My wife uses Outlook 2007 and as of the last two days ALL her incomings are being sent to the Junk folder, even mine!

She says she tried to set up a rule a couple of days ago but must have got it wrong, but I have looked at her Rules and Alerts and the only one I can find is one I had set up for her some time ago to filter out Groupon emails and direct them to their own folder, and that one, which had been working OK, had indeed been modified to direct them to Junk.

It can't be the MS Outlook Junk Email Filter update as everyone would be so affected, but I have rolled her system back two weeks using a full system partition image and it's still the same, so I can only guess that user settings must be stored in the .pst file which on this machine is on a separate data partition.

I don't use Outlook myself these days but can usually find my way around it, but I can't find this one :cry

 

Most likely has been triggered by either your ISP, or from either one of you fiddling with the junk filter settings. What other software are you running for A/V and who is your ISP that you are using?

You can retrain the junk filter settings in outlook, by opening it in safe mode, then set the filter to low. To run in safe mode, click on Start, then click on Run, then type without quotes 'Outlook /safe' and click okay. Note that there is a space between Outlook and /

 

Yep, my wife's attempt to create a filter was the cause. By deleting all existing filters life has gone back to normal. Thanks.
