Outlook And Gmail Problem

today myself and several friends cannot access gmail through microsoft outlook. it had been working perfectly.

i set up outlook as imap for my gmail account, and could receive and send without problems.

i see an announcement that the option in gmail to allow use of "less secure apps" i.e., outlook!! is no longer available.

any help on how to get outlook and gmail to work together?

Still working here (UK). Wife uses Outlook 2007 in Office Enterprise 2007 in Win 10. Don't have time right now to investigate her settings in Gmail but hope to later. What Outlook version?

 

HERE is the Google notice. It warns that the less secure option gets turned off if it isn't used and my wife's experience is consistent with that. As far as I can see your only option is to use a later version of Outlook with your Gmail account, and with the great offers currently available on Office that shouldn't prove too expensive.

I can verify these offers are genuine as I've purchased it twice.
