On my girlfriends computer, when she goes to open up her Outlook, everything is blank and she gets the following error message:

Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location. Errors have been detected in the file C:\Documents and Settings\Peetunia\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox repair tool, see Help.

She tried the repair tool, and it didnt work. She is going to be getting another computer soon, but she has alot of personal stuff saved and she needs to get into her Outlook to retrieve it.Does anyone know what I would need to do to get her back into her e-mail? Thanks.

    download mozilla thunderbird email server
install and run program, when it starts,
it will give you the option of transferring/installing/saving your Outlook settings
check the appropriate choice and click next or import or whatever looks close to that
this should include all settings on that server and all mail files
you will have to enter the Outlook password if you created one
next, if this has been successful, open Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>
click on Add/Remove Windows Components on the left side of the window>
scroll down to Outlook>uncheck>click on>Next and wait for it to re-configure
bob's yer uncle (not a bad idea to re-boot after this)
if this method doesn't work for you I don't know what to suggest
I had endless problems with Outlook for which none of the fixes on the
MicroSSoft SSupport SSite worked - couldn't even find a download option for outlook on their site - found one on softpedia, but it wouldn't install....
MSOutlook or Outlook Express is a crappy program anyways
and BTW, it's a good idea to run something like TuneUp Utilities registry cleaner function every time you uninstall a program (or some other registry cleanup software of your choice) as windowSS just loves to hang on to orphan registry files.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

What version of Outlook are you using?

Does the Inbox Repair Tool complete successfully?
