Outlook Express 6 help Please!

I have XP Home, I installed SP1.
I use AOL for email.
I do receive some email which opens with Outlook Express 6. Then I get the message that "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail." I know who is sending me these emails and I would like to see the attachments. I went to IE Tools, Internet options, security, Internet, custom level and it is set to Medium.
What should I check under Active X controls if anything? Any help offered would be appreciated. Thanks! Diane

 

Open Outlook Express. Click on tools>options>click on security tab> uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". In the lower right hand corner click "apply" then click ok.


That should do it

 

Outlook Express 6

When I go to Outlook Express tools all that is listed is address book and add to address book. I receive emails from 1 friend that I WISH TO VIEW (eml) the attachment. OE downloads it and then states that access removed to the following unsafe attachment in you mail.
All other mail comes through my AOL. I did not set up Outlook Express to send any email. It open when I get eml files and then doesn't let me view it. This started afted I installed SP1.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Diane

 

Are you saying that if you press the tools tab you do not see the options sub heading at the bottom of the list?

Yes, that is what I was saying.
However I had the incorrect window. I was using the bar that was on the top when an email
opened. I had never seen the main window for Outlook Express and it wasn't listed on my start menu. When I finally found it on my C drive I corrected the security as was described.
