I have just built a new computer with XP Home on it. I want to copy my old Address Book (which is on Windows 2000 Pro) to CD so I can install it on the new XP Home. I have tried every which way, opening hidden files, going into search, going to Windows Help, readings PC books, asking at local Computer Shop,....but with no success. Either it does'nt happen or it can't be found (*.WAB). I am told it is well hidden and not straight forward to do, I've tried copying, I've tried Exporting. Further I'm told it's not straight forward to install on the other machine either. Why does it have to be so difficult?? Please can you help, Thanks.:

Make sure Windows Explorer ->Tools -> Folder Options -> View tab -> Hidden Files and folders is is set to show hidden files and folders. And look in:

    C:\Documents and Settings\_user_\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Edit: that's where it is in XP, 2000 Pro should be similar I would think.

Hi there The Doug, Thanks for the info', I am afraid though I've had no luck. I tried what you said, but following the steps you gave did'nt show anything up, either on my 2000 Pro or XP Home. Can you think of anything else I can try? I would hate to copy out all those addresses the hard way. jopra
