Outlook Express not express

Tried to open OEx. Note read 71 messages to download.
Could not get even #1 to load. When download started, left, went to dinner, the theater and then drinks. Returned to find msg 1 still loading. Closed program, almost an exercise in futility itself. Message came up OEx not responding.

(Note **** are mine in place of info I do not want to display)

This is beginning to happen with greater frequency.
Anyone with thoughts on wassup?

I don't use Outlook Express, but have you tried getting your emails through a different service, like a web browser or other email program? The issue might be on the mail provider's end.
