I'm running Outlook Express 6 and it has worked fine since I got the computer about a year ago. However, suddenly today I got an error message that the "server has unexpectedly terminated the connection". I still get incoming mail fine (seems to be a lot slower than usual though) but I cannot send mail at all. I am directly connected to comcast's smtp server (I know there's a policy where some ISPs block port 25 unless you're directly connecting to their server or something), and my firewall and antivirus programs haven't changed. Why the sudden problem? And any suggestions to fix it?

I seem to have a problem with Outlook Express too. When I try to send an E-mail using OE it kills my IP connection. I've been trying to find answers how to fix that but no luck yet. Ideas or suggestions?

    Hi Whovian33 ,
I have been having the same problem , rang my IP helpline got this advice :
    open outlook express
click on tools - ( top left hand corner )
    click on options
click on connection tab -- make sure there is NO tick next to - hang up after
    sending and receiving mail.
Hope it helps . I haven't had any problems since doing this. wendyd
