Outlook Periodically Stops Sending/receiving Emails, Needs Restarting + Fresh Login

One of my colleagues has been having trouble with Outlook in the last few days. Throughout the day it will stop sending and receiving emails at seemingly random intervals until they quit and restart Outlook – and upon doing so it will ask for login details and passwords for all associated accounts again before working. After some time the problem will reoccur and Outlook will need to be closed and reopened again.

They’re running Office 365 on Windows 10, and the only email accounts they have are two shared company addresses that are set up on multiple systems. Both accounts are affected and this problem only occurs on their machine – all of my other colleagues with these accounts aren’t running into this issue. We’ve checked all the account settings and they’ve been set up in exactly the same way. Both accounts were running without problem on said system until a few days ago so we’re not quite sure what has suddenly caused this. Their system seems otherwise fine so we’re inclined to suspect (and hope) this may simply be a glitch from a recent Windows update rather than anything malicious.

Whilst this can be worked around by restarting Outlook and re-entering login credentials, it’s far from ideal. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
