Outlook prompts for a password whenever it tries to connect to the mail server. I unchecked 'server requires identification' but it continues to happen. The IP it lists is it's own default IP display, and the account password and username when entered do nothing. As far as I know no one has changed anything on this PC. This is happening on a PC using Windows 98, any idea what could be causing it?

For some reason outlook does that. I have encountered this problem before and the only way I have found to fix it is

    delete the account
then add the same account again

    it should work

Follow on that but apparently it still asked for it, seems to work just fine for me using the same server but on this other account and PC it doesnt.
