overall downloading problems

This is also my first post.

I am having similar problems to what Gregba has. I have followed your instructions on doing the basic maintenances, etc. I have also reset my router but am still having problems downloading files and streaming videos. I have not found any sort of patterns either, they happen intermittently. Sometimes one video will work, and the next, the same one will get stuck part way.

Please help! It is happening more and more frequently now. Looking for any help I can get.

 

Oh, forgot to mention that I have tried in both firefox AND IE, but again, happens randomly.

 

Possibly your parents internet speed is way slower than where you were downloading before, this is common on slow internet service. ed

 

I don't think that is it. I've only started having this problem in recent weeks... never had this happen before.

 

you know, there is a way to check out your system that is kind of odd, but it is worth a try.
if you are a netflix user, you can go to the movies element of your page on netflix, and have the netflix system evaluate your download capabilities. it will tell you how you're doing.
failing that you can go to myvoip.com, and conduct the speed test on your unit, and it will tell you how you're doing. the fact is, today's video,and high density data streams require pretty big numbers in terms of baud, and processor speeds, and you just might not have the stuff to get streams consistently well. the only way to resolve those issues is the usual, more speed, more density.
you need to use registry cleaners all the time, so if you aren't, get on it.
