overburning dvd disaster

stupid me,i tried overburning a dvd data disk with nero 7 and now when i try to burn a data dvd i get power callibration error.it(lite-on)will still burn data cds fine.is my drive toast as far as burning dvd data know,or is there any hope?

 

Check your burn speed for DVD. It could be still set in over burn. Try setting at lowest speed and burn a small amount of info, say under 2 Gigs.

This is the chance you take with Over burn. Lite-On burners are mid level burners so if this is your first time pushing it, depending on the useage, it should be alright.

 

excuse my ignorance,but how do i lower the burn speed with nero 7?

 

The same way you set it to over burn, only slowest speed.

Before you hit the burn button change the write speed in the options.
