Overclocking Acer 5315-2001 laptop HELP! :(

I have an acer aspire 5315-2001 laptop
2.0 GHz, 533MHz, FSB, 1 MB L2 cache, 1 GB DDR2
80GB

When I go into the BIOS, there is no option to change the clock setting.. its at a fixed speed! How can I overclock it to more than 2.0?

Thanks in advance, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me on this.

 

Hey and welcome, one usually overclocks by raising the FSB but laptops are only built to take so much heat so OC'ing that could make for a good doorstop.

with laptops, overclocking isn't a good idea.

however, a program like softfsb will be your best bet. since laptop cpu's are designed to vary their speeds anyways, it most likely will respond well to a software overclocking solution.

anything further likely would require a voltage/fsb mod which many people aren't willing to try as doing so violates any warranty on the aptop (and leaves evidence behind on/in the socket you can't hide). A physical mod is something i'd save till either the warranty expires, or if you don't mind possibly killin' it and getting a new lappy, go ahead... LOL
