I just purchased a new computer and I would like to overclock it. I would like to overclock the processor and the videocard. However I dont know how to go about doing this. I know you have to go into bios and adjust the voltages and stuff but I really dont know how to do it.

    Asus A8v motherboard
    ATI X800 xt
    AMD FX 55 Processor
    2 GB ram

    Why? lol

I'd give it a while to settle in before blowing it all up. ;) There are a ton of sites about overclocking. Do a search in Google for Overclocking. I suggest doing alot of your own research before jumping on this wagon.

I hate to be a jerk but chances are if you don't know enough to overclock with out having to ask, then you should try it. Anyways if you still decide to do this then make sure your cooling is up to par.

After some more thought, I don't think you'll be unhappy with the performance of your machine right out of the box. It's gonna be plenty fast for just about anything you'd want to do or play. Overclocking can be fun & at the same time very frustrating. I'd hate to see you screw up a perectly good computer doing things you have no clue about. Again.....I suggest you do a ton of research before starting any overclock at all. This way you will have at least a book understanding of what you are trying to accomplish, if not hands on.

Don't just listen to what others say ( including me ;) ), use your own judgement. If this is something you really want to get into then Do Research, alot of it too. Nothing worse than a machine that won't boot, even more so when you are the one that messed it up. ;)

I am no guru of overclocking by any means, but I have kilt enough computer parts to know this..................if you don't know what you are doing, you "will" screw up.

    Best of luck to yas
