Hey how is everybody doing? I’ve just received a DVD from my daughter of her dance recital. The problem I have is that the dvd is formatted for TVs in England. I live in Alberta Canada & the DVD won’t work on our DVD players :( but it does work on my 17 inch laptop :). It would be great to watch it on the 52 inch wide screen. Does anyone know if there is a conversion program out there? Much appreciated for any help. Thanks Bear

The DVD is in PAL format, and your DVD player is set for NTSC. You should be able to play PAL discs simply by changing a setting on your DVD player. Check the manual. If for some reason you can't do this, you can use Nero to copy the disc. Just make sure that NTSC is checked for the target disc. If you don't have Nero, there's other ways to do a PAL>NTSC conversion, but they take more time.

Awesome I’ll check my DVD player to see if it has a PAL setting, if not I will try my Nero. Thanks dlb much appreciated. :)

As a last resort you can probably connect your big screen to your laptop. It is simple. RTM (Read the manual), of course. :D Bazza

I'll try that if I can't get the nero to work. Thanks:)
