Today on my XP home edition computer I was downloading images of maps. And about a week ago my friend sent me a map and i named the folder map1.jpg. And today when I was downloading a different set of maps I named a map "map1.jpg" now is there a way to get back the file I accidentally overwrote?

If you have Norton Go Back installed, you can revert back usually in file properties.

    Sorry Louis,

The file was overwritten, unless you had software that protects from this prior, like Go-Back, I don't know of a way.

I would email your friend for n see if he has another copy.

    Regards,

    Peg

Oh been there done that only happens when I am in a major hurry and haphazardly click the overwrite existing file ok button.

So you must have also deleted the email the first map was sent have you checked your email deleted files bin
    and just maybe:
Depending on the software you opened and viewed the first map with may still have a temp or configured to make back ups.
