Does anyone know how I can operate my computer as the Owner Creator because this user has the permissions I need.

youd have to log in as administrator or run the program(if thats what youre trying to do) as admin.

I have tried that Steve but for iTunes it needs the Owner Creator user and I haven't a clue how to become that. This user must have been created whebn Vista was first installed. It is also the only user with Special Permissions.

an admin should be able to open anything created by anyone. but if you tried and that didnt work out, maybe try to reinstall itunes under your user name?

someone with more experience with vista will probably come by with better advice though. thats something you could try in the mean time though if you want.

I have been on to Microsoft with this and there are thousands of users with this problem. Apparently when Vista is installed it creates a User name of it's own which you don't have access to. This is for security reasons Microsoft say. This is one persons reaction :

"On more thing, when I look at the security tab for the registry edit entry for
Group or user names it has 3 enteries
    1) Everyone
    2) Owner rights
    3) System

I even tried to add myself through the advance tab and give myself
permissions through the usb and also enum and it won’t work! It will not
    give me full control.

This is unbelieveable, it is my computer, I purchased windows vista, loaded
my software and yet I am not the owner? And it will not give me any control.

This really upsets me, what is wrong with windows vista? How did this other
administrators account appear and take control of programs and owns them? "

And then there's this from one of Microsofts own professionals :

"Buyslake has already stated that he is using the Home Premium version of
Vista. On that webpage that you are referring to, it specifically states,
"Note: These steps cannot be completed on Windows Vista Starter, Windows
Vista Home Basic, and Windows Vista Home Premium."

None of the MMC modules like Secpol, GPEdit, and Local Users and Groups are
available in any of the Home versions. "

Looks like I have spent a whole lot of money on an iPod that I can't use.

did you try installing itunes under your account? there should be no reason why you cant reinstall itunes.

When you say "under your account" I'm not quite sure what you mean. I have tried right clicking on the .exe file and then selecting "Run as Administrator" but that doesn't do any good as I get exactly the same result.
