I'm trying to get an old P4 machine up and running again but the bios settings have gone, I have the board manual (supermicro P4SBA/P4SBA+) but it doesn't explain things clearly enough. I'm stuck on the processor clock multiplier setting, does the processor speed have to be divided by 100MHZ or 133MHZ to get the correct multiplier number, or are those figures incorrect? Thanks

Which P4 do you have fitted, what's the SPEC code on it?

If it's a 400/800 FSB CPU, then the 'board needs to be set to 100 FSB. If the CPU is 533/1066 FSB, set the 'board for 133 FSB.

Its 400 FSB, so I'll divide the processor speed by 100 for the clock ratio. Thanks for the info

Intel processors are "quad" pumped as you have observed and therefore need to be divided by 4, if using DDR (Double Data Rate) RAM you would divide by two (i.e. twice the CPU MHz) if you wanted to achieve a synchronous set up.
