    ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe 865PE
    CPU P4/3.0EGHz 800M 478P/1MB HT RT
    DDR SMPLT 256MB PC3200 SNW32DDR/256 (2)
Eagle ATX 400w Switching Power Supply Model DRB400ATX

Built this new PC and all was well. About to close it up and decided I would connect the 2 front panel USB ports. I initially wasn't sure about the connectivity. In any event I believe I figured it out and connected them.

I turned on the PC, the cpu fan ran for about 2 seconds and them the PC shut down. I searched the ASUS board for a solution, found the USB connections and agan I believe I connected them correctly. It mentioned possibly blowing a fuse called P160... I located about 7 or 8 of these all over the board and they all still have conductivity.

I unplugged everything from the MB, reinstalled the PS and I still get nothing. For one moment the MB green led lit up but then went out and now I get no response at all.

The PS is good, I installed it in my main PC and it worked fine.

I took my ATX PS from my main PC and plugged it into the suspect MB. Well the cpu fan started and the green power led started blinking. The only things connected were 1 memory strip and video board.

Reinstalled the original PS and now the MB green power light comes on but nothing else. Any ideas? How do you know for sure if the MB is shot?

I'd appreciate any input... Thanks Bill
