    Dear Majorgeeks:

My computer has been painfully slow for weeks even though I have Norton Antivirus. I followed your instructions and ran Spybot, CCleaner, Counterspy, Bitdefender, Panda, GetRunkey, Shownew and HJT.

I am working with Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6.0, 512MB. Please advise.

    Ben

P.S. Can you also tell me if Drg2Dsc is malware? I see it running when I first turn on my computer.

You need to attach the other logs:
    - GetRunKey
    - ShowNew
    - HijackThis

    Major Geeks:

Here are the GetRunKey, ShowNew and HijackThis logs. Also, please advise about Drg2Disc: can I just delete the damn thing?

Why are you trying to delete it? It is part of the software that you installed on your PC. If you don't use it Roxio (aka Easy CD Creator) then you should uninstall it. Or if you just don't want DragToDisc to run disable the feature with Roxio's setup.

You are not having malware problems. Your PC is slow due to software that you are running on it. Too many toolbars, an unsupported out of date Microsoft Antispyware, and Norton/Symantec Antivirus 2006 (which is probably the biggest killer to your performance).

Uninstall Microsoft Antispyware now because it is not supported anymore.

Is CounterSpy the free version from the READ & RUN ME? If so, uninstall it now that we already saw the log from it. And you also installed it into the wrong folder.

Do you really need and use:
    Google Toolbar
    MSN Toolbar
    Plaxo Toolbar
    Yahoo Toolbar

You are using old versions of GetRunKey and ShowNew. You must always look for current versions when you come here. I don't need new logs though because you do not have malware problems.

You can however use HijackThis to fix the below items which will stop them from loading at startup. None of these are necessary and they just waster system resources and slow your PC down:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Works Update Detection] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared\WkUFind.exe
    O4 - Global Startup: InterVideo WinCinema Manager.lnk = C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\Bin\WinCinemaMgr.exe
    O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
