    Hi everyone!

I removed the police virus/trojan today by using the bootable rescue disk from Panda antivirus. Then I noticed that suddenly I had no sound anymore. I ran msconfig and enabled all the things in startup again and also tried to set a default playback device in sound settings but that option is now greyed out on all the devices and can't be selected. I tried reinstalling the drivers for the soundcard but the issue still remains. Anyone know what could be causing this?

My laptop is Acer aspire 5560G.
    Running windows 7 Home Premium.

Oh I should add that I ran all the tools from the readme thread aswell after finding this forum and my computer is completely free from infection but the fact that the rescue disk I ran first of all disabled my sound is still an issue and was not fixed by any of these programs. Maybe a mod can decide if this should be in the software section now. Im new to the forum and unsure.

I ran FRST and it did turn back some errors on some dolby audio service. Can I go ahead and press fix in FRST?

Well this would mean that you are an expert in malware removal and in reading all of our logs if you can actually read all that info. And if you are really sure about this then you are posting in the wrong forum and should be in the Hardware Forum instead. ;)

Well since we did not ask you to run Panda, nor do we know what you actually removed with it, it is impossible for us to really make any true assessment. However if you PC was find before running Panda, perhaps you removed a file required for your sound card and need to restore it. So again this also infers that you should be posting in the Hardware Forum.
