    Hi all,

I started running scans just to see if anything was there and found the CWS.Msconfig. I fixed it.

I then decided to follow the protocols and did all the updates and then booted into safe mode and did all the scans except Panda, which I did in normal mode. I could not access IE for some reason, even tho I just ran the Bitdefender scan from IE.

The second scan with CW shredder(in safe mode this time) found CWS.Msconfig (again) , so I fixed it again.

I quarantined and removed 8 negligible items from AdAware SE. All other scans are clean, except Panda. I am including the Panda scan and a HJT log file (which looks ok from what I remember from before).

My computer is an AMD AthlonXP 2800+, 2.13 G , 512 MB Ran, WinXP +SP2. Since i now have a dvd burner I have been to some sites to download stuff just to see how the burner programs work- so no doubt I have picked up some crap.

    Thank you in advance!
    Mae

Are you saying your Bidefender log was clean?

Did you install any of the below items that Panda is detecting:
If not then look for anything like them in Add/Remove programs and uninstall them.

    Your HJT log is clean.

the stress joke is a pretend hammer that you use to smash a pretend monitor (or use a pretend can of spraypaint to make it all black or a number of other things).
My child loves to play with this on the computer.
If it is infected, I will remove it. Or does it just appear to be spyware?

I do not know what restart is.

    I will delete Piolet immediately.

No it is not necessarily a problem especially if you know what it is and where it came from. Panda was basically just saying the same as me.......what is this?

Whatelse is in this folder? C:\WINDOWS\system32\Tools

restart.exe is one of a group of files with the same icon (8 altogether). They appear to be from RegClean. They must have come over when my old hard drive was copied. I do not remember opening them when I was picking over the files looking for digital photos,
Can I delete them manually from system 32\tools? There does not appear to be an uninstall amongst the files.

Yes! You should be able to just delete the whole tools folder.
