    Hey gang,
I'm having some Spyware issues. The only clue I have is that my computer has been running sluggish all night. It runs okay for a few minutes and then it slows down and vice versa. Plus, the scroll bar tends to get stuck and it takes several tries to get an icon open sometimes. So, I ran Adaware, which detected and deleted 14 files (the same 14 it always does). However, the computer still had performance issues. Then I ran MacAfee virus but it failed to detect any infected viruses. I then used Spybot, which found 34 items and I deleted/fixed the problems. My computer seemed great for about 3 hours but then it became sluggish again.

I then decided to use Panda, which found a whopping *80* malware files!! I wanted to delete them but it said I had to pay $12.95. Is this worth it? Is it just a scam so I'll have to pay for removal? The other programs didn't work, so how can I trust Panda?!?

Anyone know what's going on? I thought it was this Kodak photo CD that slowed me down but I deinstalled it but to no avail. Argh!!

    HI

Best option to fully make sure your PC is free from malware is to follow the below guide, run the steps in order, attach the logs and our experts will post some final tailored removal instructions for any left over malware components found.

lease follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

      • [*]runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
        [*]newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
