I am looking to partition my hard drive for gaming and I was wondering how I go about doing that. I have never done it before so this would be new to me. I am currently using windows 98SE and have about 51gbs of space.

i wouldn't recommend any partitioning, since all it does is waste free space, because you'll want x amount per drive, which is (number of partitions)*x more than it'd be if you just left it alone. If you really need more space (51 gb is a lot; you won't use it up anytime soon), you can just get another hard drive. getting another one will always be faster and more effective than just partitioning it.

ok, if you still want to partition it, you can use something like partitionmagic to do some non-destructive partitioning. if you use something like fdisk to resize partitions, it will destroy all data on your hard drive.

    What brand HDD ya got.
Western digital & Maxtor have utilities that will partition, they come with retail HDD's and you can also download from thier Web sites for free.
