Pascal

Anyone know this language? I have Lazarus and need to construct some simple software for my coursework and need to start somewhere!

I had a calss on it about 7 years ago, I remember some.

 

I think "turbo pascal" is available for free ... try googling on it. I used to program in it for MS-DOS ... made nice tight programs. That was when 64k was big. There were some pretty neat programs to implement grep filtering. But for certain things, assembler was a lot more efficient. Functions doable with 100 bytes of assembly language took 30k once the compiler added its libraries and overheads. Just try "printing" a ctrl-g (bell) in each to show the difference.

 

I had a class on it for 6 months 4 years ago and i cant remember anything about it.
