Password Jumper Help

    Im trying to reset the setup password on my friend's dell dimension 2400 pc so i can instal a new os, can someone tell me where to locate the password jumper so I can reset the password?
    I searched the dell manuals and was unable to find it.

    Pull out the cmos battery ....for at least an hour ...should reset to default.

    Yeah I tried that already and when i boot the pc back up I get a screen sayin"reading ide configuration" then it lists the hdd and cd-rom drive and prompts for a password.
    Not sure what else to do but to reset the password jumper
