I dont know of any program that password protects a program execute.

I do know this: You can create a personal folder(s) in outlook make sure they are (.pst) file format then assign it to be your default delivery location for your email messages and set a password for it.

NOTE: However, if this is your work related Outlook they can and may have disabled this feature.

I went onto the MS website and they mentioned 3rd party add ons you could get that would prompt for a password before Outlook opens.

I just thought maybe someone would know of one

I offered you the best option for securing your email folders...but you didnt mention you had any previous clue there is 3rd party software available....

Your safest choice is always to check (the software itself) Outlook directly for a possible built in feature that would give you a complete block to your outlook exe.

Right click the outlook icon on your desk top then click properties you should get a email setup window click setup email and re-set your email options.

NOTE: If this is provided by your employer they may have an internal policy set to disable this feature and you will have only my previous option.

Unless you are set on 3rd party software then post a new inquiry making sure to include the specific name of any other 3rd party software offering this option to block or password protect Outlook.exe

Is it possible to protect a folder from showing it's contents only when a password is entered? This folder has to be a newly created one inside of the Inbox.

ooohh...this outlook is provided via your job.

As I previously explained your options and how to - you are just going to have to try it - Your company has had the IT dept denie access to some or most of the default user features.

I would suggest if you are unable to set up a private folder in the In box with a password and set your email to route all email to it is because the company has set denial and I would keep all email in and or out strictly business related.
