Pawn Tactics Lag Help

I play this game called Pawn Tactics, a 2d shooter flash game and at first I had the latest flash player with the latest browser etc etc. and I got a constant lag in the game. Then I downgraded to flash 10.0.45, which seemed decent but whenever I got close to another player i would get a small amount of lag, which is very annoying if you're trying to precisely knife someone.

Even at 30+ fps I am still getting lag...

I have tried many different flash/shockwave versions along with many different browsers and I just cannot see what the problem is. This is a brand new laptop computer that honestly could run a ton of applications without any lag whatsoever, but a small game like PT causes it to lag for some reason.
I doubt it has to do with any virus or malware considering my computer is brand new and pretty well protected, plus I only use it on sites I know and trust.

    Windows 7
    4G RAM
    Intel(R) HD Graphics

It is an LCD screen so the refresh rate is stuck at 60 Hz.... I googled it and found out that they work differently than regular monitors so it CANT go past 60 Hz and doesn't need to... but I'm not sure if that's why it appears that I'm lagging.

Anyone know anything? I just can't figure it out.

I'd head to Intel and download the latest graphics driver for your chipset, it may be a year ahead of the OEM (or MS) offering.

You may also need to go to MS and install DirectX 9.0C for completeness.

Sorry I am a bit confused as to how I can do that...

I went into my device manager and tried finding the latest updates for my display adapter and some other things but they were all up to date.

The only thing I really remember changing on this computer was a few weeks ago I updated my display adapter from an intel(r) hd graphics card to a later version of the intel(r) HD graphics card from the device manager.

    I also have directx 11

I am running a 64 bit version of windows 7 as well.

I visited the intel website but I got lost as to how to download the proper thing onto my computer... Do you think you could go into more detail?

Thank you very much for your help.

Updating via Device Manager only looks to MS Updates for drivers - usually 6+ months behind.

What Intel chipset/graphics do you have?

Most Intel graphics chipsets max out at DX8/9 and only manage basic compatibility with anything higher, that's why it usually helps to install DX9c.

    It says:

Intel(R) 5 series/3400 series chipset family PCI express root port 1
and there is a port 1 ,2 ,3 etc all the way up until 6.

Oh by the way, I googled it and it says that directx11 is built in with windows 7 and I don't think I can get rid of it... so I don't think that's the problem.

One last thing, sorry for the triple post but I don't see an edit button o_O

Anyways, I notice that when im by myself in a game and just moving around I get no lag. The second I shoot bullets, I get lag.

Also, when people are in games with me, I believe I also get lag when someone spawns, and when a grenade blows up.

I was wondering what is the cause of this?

I recently used hypercam to video it, and I noticed it almost ran smoother WHILE vidding the whole thing, and it caught every single frame, so I feel like it can't be my computer, as it can video without anymore lag than without the video...

Hmm, I see what you meant earlier about the Intel site :(

Ok, this gives me the impression that it's the motherboard chipset, Xeon-based, probably a Workstation PC but I see no clues as to what the graphics chip is.

The best I can suggest atm is that you use the autodetect at the Intel site.

Can you find all the details about the make/model of this computer, please? There may be a sticker somewhere with enough info to pinpoint what you have.

Re the DirectX, it's not a case of removing DX11, it's just that holes need to be plugged below that so that earlier software will run correctly, installing DX9 on top of DX11 is probably the 2nd or 3rd thing that any gamers do when they install W7 :)

Yes, there's a 10 minute limit on editing posts here.

Basically, a vanilla W7 setup (even after updating drivers via Windows update/Device Manager) is aimed at providing a pretty Aero performance, not gaming. It may be that using hypercam kicks in the Windows Aero features that the game itself doesn't use?

    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Intel(R) Core i3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27 GHz (4 CPU's)

    Dell Studio 1749

I bought this computer through the college I go to ( better price), if that makes a difference.

    Does that help?

Oh and before you even said that, I already went there and it was weird because the graphics driver and chipset software showed up blank both times I attempted it... and the only thing that needed to be updated was "wired networking" which i didn't show in the screenshot (figuring that it's irrelevant)

Ok, there should be a short alpha-numeric Service Tag on a sticker under the laptop, this will enable us to find the exact graphics chip installed.

OK I found it and went over to the dell website and I found a boatload of new updates that I needed but I'm a bit confused as to which ones I should be downloading and installing and exactly how I am suppose to do that..
