Paypal

Is any one else having paypal issues.where if you go to check out it is trying to force you to use a credit or debit card.

 

No checking account but still i have never run into this issue be for.

 

I only have a direct debit account number on my Paypal and I buy lots of vinyl records from Europe and the USA without any issues.
The only thing I had to do was go through their bulls@#% verify procedure as someone in Germany requested this. The verify took 8 days total elapsed time from start to finish (mostly waitng 6 days for Paypal to reply to my application) and I missed a deal on a rare record because I needed to pay within 4 days and they only accepted payment by Paypal. This was the first time I needed to verify my account in order to proceed at the checkout and was for this sale item in Germany. Previously I had no problems using my Paypal account in the USA, Netherlands or Britain and I was just using the linked account and transferring money to Paypal as needed.
Once your account is verified you don't need to have money in your Paypal account and long as there is money (in my case) in my debit account then Paypal pays immediately and if paying international it also changes the currency.

 

'tis interesting , i used to use paypal , have /had an account for years , sent money . used it , to pay things .
then a few years ago , my account was locked till i submitted , eg copy of Passport etc , [ no bloody way that was gonna happen ] .
well ta cut it short , i rang paypal up aust , they said , no passport , drivers license ===
,- i wont have access to my account , luckily i did not have any money in stock in me account ..

they had me credit card details , since changed thru bank ..

dunno what the issue was ...

dodgy ta say tha least ,, but thats my opinion , now use over tha phone debit card .. if the said company don't want to accept it . they don't want my business - so i go ta another company no probs ..

ps , i have . heard of this thing happening before , so it's not an isolated case ...

 

I had a Pissing match with paypal about there total bull <snip>

When i was having an issue with there web site redirecting me to pay with a credit card issue.It charged me a 10.59 fee that i never got for a mmo i play.SWTOR for cartel coins.So i spoke with my bank and paypal today about the major issue.Be cause i tried and tried to get rid of the one problem i was having and it still there.When i tried to transfer my money to my wallet option for 43.00 dollars for the game.On jan 2 10.59 where taken out for some random reason out of know where after the dec 31 issue.So now Paypal is contacting SWTOR and hope fully they should reimburse me for all of the issue SWTOR is having.

Swtor put a 35 dollar surcharge from the missing money.Thank fully i had enough in there to cover every thing.

After that day i was having issues with the game and ever thing.I went to the Walmart i worked and and found out they sell game cards so i will be using them from now on.Untill the game shuts down or Walmart runs out lol.

 

I haven't owned a credit card since 1994, and I use PayPal constantly. I did verify my account by linking it with my checking account since I use it to do business both incoming and outgoing, but I have never been "forced" to use a credit card. Ever. Nor a driver's license (I don't currently have one of those, either), nor a passport (which I've never owned). I use it when I'm too lazy to get my debit card to purchase something online more often than not, which means I rarely have the money in my PayPal account and it just automatically transfers from my checking account like it would have if I'd gotten up to fetch my card. It does not, however, link to my debit card number, just my checking account. I know this because I recently got a new debit card and didn't have to change a thing in PayPal.

Sounds like the issue here, though, is with a game rather than PayPal, and that PayPal is going to bat for you, at least if I'm reading it correctly.

 

I actually don't have either attached. I have Paypal Credit (used to be called Bill Me Later) that I use to pay for all my paypal purchases. They never ask me to add either and my account has been verified for years. Maybe these are new rules?
