pc acts like a pancake

Hey guys:

I have an bad problem. Just couple of days ago my computer froze in windows. So i restarted it and it froze at the boot-up screen. I pressed reset once more, and it got passed the boot-up screen, and froze at the win2k login screen. I searched for similiar problems and concluded that its a memory problem. So i bought brand new kingston memory. The problem is still there.
Im writing from a cafe, since i cant access my pc.

Pls help me as to what the problem is.

Defrag - Registry cleaner - run check disk - scan for virus, most of the time though its a hardware incompatibiltiy problem

Im thinking its a motherboard issue, and probably will have to go get a new one

I do not think it is a virus.
I believe it is the mobo.
Most of the time(i hear) when people cannot get past the windows screen, it means it's a hardware problem.

 

My system can load after a couple of tries into windows, but than it halts once again. Most of the time it halts after i login.
