Host computer: On a LAN with MultiTech RouteFinder RF550VPN, on DSL. According to router manual: advanced settings, virtual server, port range mapping- set external IP (fixed from ISP), set internal IP (fixed internal ip-192.168.1.100) for machine with PC Anywhere waiting for call, I assume. Set ports to same as remote (default is 5231-5232). Host is set to allow access of remote named XXXXX.
Problem- Remote cannot locate host if "network host to control" IP is set at XX.XX.XX.XXX. If I change this IP to XX.XX.XX.XXX/192.168.1.100, The host is now showing on my list of available hosts, but with a question mark, instead of green dot.
I think I am missing something here with the setup. Router website is not real helpful.
