Pc Communication App Options When Switching From Smartphone To Feature Phone?

Hi.

I currently have an old smartphone with android on it. For my next phone, I intend to switch back to a feature phone.
What would be an ideal open-source app that someone else can have on their smartphone and I can use on my PC (running GNU/Linux) without needing a smartphone to use.
I know Telegram is ruled out. I mostly use that on my PC right now but can only do this because I initially had (and have) the app on my smartphone.

I'm not getting one right now. But when my current smartphone's battery becomes too worn out, I may get the Doro 6520.

 

Hi David. I'd never use whatsapp. Besides it's only for smartphones anyway.

I like Tox and Linphone but getting others to switch to them may be too tough.
