PC crashes when ipad plugged in to sync

When I go to plug in my ipad my pc crashes. I've been on the phone with apple and they updated my drivers for my webcam and printer and my pc still crashes. Does anyone know what else can be done. I've seen that sometimes photos can cause this; the only photos I have on my ipad is wallpaper but prior to changing this wallpaper i had no problems with my pc crashing. My next step will be to remove that wallpaper and see what happens, but just in case there's something else out there that I haven't done I wanted to put this out there to get more info. PC is an Acer 6460 windows xp pro. Help

Go to Start | Right Click on My Computer and Click on Event Viewer | Application and look for errors and post us what it says. That will shred some light.

I did go look at the event viewer but could not figure out how to get it into a post. I was on the phone with itunes for over an hour again last night but before calling I opened up itunes and it wanted to do an update. I let it and when it was finished and I restarted the computer I now have the common folder with the file "_helper.sig" coming on at startup. I've had this before and did take my pc to a repair person with no explanation as to why it comes up only when I update itunes. The pc is going back to the repair guy to have it fixed again and more than likely get a much better virus/adware program. Since the "_helper.sig" file was on my pc itunes won't help me until I get it fixed. The good news is that it's not the ipad because I plugged it into my work pc with itunes and it did not crash the computer and it actually recognized it as an ipad and not a digital camera as my personal pc does, go figure.
