pc doctor vs ca antivirus vs norton

I've been trying to decide which spyware program is best. I tried ca's antispyware and it said it found "dialer hc" which it said was a high risk

Neither norton or pc tools spyware doctor found this.

Would this mean that ca's program was better? I was turned off by the aggressive way their pop-ups kept trying to get me to buy.

Ok - thanks. But it seems strange to me that CA is saying it found a serious "high risk" intruder that no one else is finding. Wouldn't it seem likely that if it was actually there, a high risk program would have been found by the other anti-spyware?

Please look at the following entry regarding a protection which Spybot enters against this particular piece of high-risk malware. It's possible that CA is detecting the protection rather than the malware, which would explain why the other companies are not detecting it. Companies differ in their response time to reports for false positives. The other companies you mentioned also detect this same piece of malware and remove it, but won't detect the entry Spybot puts into your computer via the immunization feature as a dangerous item.
