PC HD reformat?

    hey, this is probably a very dumb question, but please oblige...

    i used to own a PC and then I switched to a MAC. i kept the HD from the PC and simply put it in an external drive case so I could access my important files and transfer them to the Mac. that all worked fine... now my question is: is there any way for me to reformat the drive so that I can actually save stuff on it from my Mac?
