I had a major virus and quarantined it through Norton Anti Virus. There were many more problem files so i wanted to really do a thorough scan of my entire system. Since Norton gave me so much trouble with security errors, etc I decided to try another software instead. I downloaded PC Health Plan which is a virus removal software. They say to run the computer in safe mode which is considered a deep scan and then run an expert scan afterward. It has been running in "safe" mode with a dark black screen for 3 days now and every time I try to reboot it goes into that "safe" mode. Any way, to get me out of this mess?

I'd love to just deactivate the scanning software before it actually logs on.
I'm at a loss. I've tried contacting the company but I keep getting a recorded message..."busy with other customers...leave your number..." I did get an email from them but they said "your problem is unusual". Yeah, no kidding.
    HELP.

    Welcome to MGs!

PC Health Plan is a rogue tool! It is on the rogue list here: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

While in safe mode can you run msconfig?
Click Start, Run, and enter msconfig and click OK. When it comes up, select Normal Startup and then goto the BOOT.INI tab and make sure that you Uncheck /SAFEBOOT

You may want to uninstall PC Health Plan if you can while still in safe mode.

Let me know if that helps.

It looks like its in "safe mode", but I recall in safe mode being able to assess start and other programs. This is strange. It just gives me a black screen with "safe mode" at all corners of the screen. Weird. I haven't seen this before. No applications are running. I can get into task manager and that's it. Maybe if I reboot and hit windows safe mode (is it F5?) and then do what you say it will work.

Please do what I requested in my previous message and provide feedback on those instructions only.

If you cannot find the start button, just run msconfig from Task Manager by clicking File and select New Task(Run...) then eneter msconfig and click OK! Then do what I requested.
