PC keeps creating temporary user profile

My computer went to sleep and wouldn't wake up, so I turned it off manually. It booted up normally, but within a minute or so, I had difficulty getting programs to respond, so I restarted. After I logged in, it said "Preparing Windows" for a while, then started with a temporary user profile instead of my usual one. Each time I restart, it gives me a new temporary user profile, one without access to my Outlook files or any of my usual browser bookmarks and settings.

Is my main user profile corrupted (I only had one)? Is there a way to fix it? I'm using Windows 10. I tried System Restore, but got a "System Restore did not complete successfully....the restore point was damaged or was deleted during the restore."

Thanks for any advice you can give.
