PC keeps powering down

Hello,

I have a PC that was powering itself down.
I tested the PSU with a cheap CoolMax PSU tester, and it failed, so I replaced it.
The PC still powered down - so I replaced the CPU fan.

It runs for a few hours (sometimes as short as a half hour) - but it is still powering down.

Before replacing anything I tested the hard drive and the RAM - both passed.

Am I looking at a new motherboard here?

Is there anything else that could cause these issues?

Have you looked at how hot your machine gets? How about power option setting? Does it have dust bunnies all over? Sorry to be vague as I don't know the details of your machine.

 

In addition, check the bios of auto shutdown due to temp. Not saying you should change them, just want to know if you have them.

 

I suspect the culprit might be a program called Sentinal that was installed, that monitors PC temp & health.
It was set to shut down if too hot - but I have never seen it get above 38 - that isn't too hot is it?
I have turned this program off, and the PC has now been running for about 4 hours without shutting down.
The temperature is being displayed as 38...

Gawd no, that is idle temps and quite normal. I tried to find this 'Sentinel' but had no luck. There maybe a setting in there that you can adjust if you want to keep it. Set it at 60C, if that shuts you down then you're really in trouble.:-D Just come back in here and we'll help you out.
