Pc Lan File Transfer Software (paid/free)

Hello,

Could someone point me in the direction of a decent PC2PC LAN/IP File Transfer program? I really hate Windows built in File Sharing and I am looking for a full-featured free version OR a decent paid version (as long as it's NOT too expensive) I will probably need 2 copies one for my Laptop and one for my wifes.

BTW: I did try this one called Folder Transfer (https://foldertransfer.com/) and at first $19 (each) was a bargain for all features but if you change the slightest thing it will unregister itself and you have to buy a new copy (forget that!) it happened twice on my laptop and on my wifes causing me to get a refund on all copies I purchased. Don't waste your money on this program!

Why would you involve IPs in file sharing? Nothing could possibly be simpler or more effective than network drive mapping, do you use mapping?

 

I haven't used drive mapping since windows 7 and windows 10 sucks (IMHO) for file sharing. I am using BeeBeep works great so far and it's free.

 

As you have not been using mapping for four years I suggest it's high time to take a more serious look at it in Win 10. It would not affect BeeBeep in any way. I suspect the paucity of offerings for file sharing has everything to do with the fact there's just no need for it.

 

I would have had a lot more sympathy for your views on file sharing back in Win 7 days, when the unreliable Homegroup was the standard way of doing things. But Homegroup was abolished in 10 and good riddance! Win 10 file sharing is bug free and simple to use.
