    Is the saite safe?
I do not use registry cleaners so I am referring to the other aspects of it.

It's safe though I don't use it much except for internet speed testing.

I use it to check on unknown windows files. I also subscribed to a newsletter. It was required when I wanted to download several drivers from the site.
I thought I'd later cancel the newsletter but found I enjoy it.
    Yes, the site is safe.

plord - by unknown windows files, do you mean running these files through the program to see if they are ok to use?
What kind of files for example and where do you go to use the program for this. I am always looking for a way to be sure.

Augie - According to a program I use, Wugnet I beleive, my download speed is 17.1 and upload is 6. Are these speeds acceptable for cable compared to your speeds?

I find that wugnet(after several tests) lowballs the speed and gives me a d/l of 6.34 Mbps which I know is a crock of baloney, it's probably due to the location of the server, most likely in Timbuktoo.:-D. Speedtest.net and DSLReports.com accurately show my d/l speeds @ about 8.5 Mbps and my stupid ISP(which uses dslreports) gives me 11Mbps. I know this is bullfeathers as grabbing a distro gave me max speed of 950 KBps or 7.6 Mbps which is about right as far as advertised service is concerned. My ISP always sends me an e-mail when they up the speed, just to crow about it.;)

Strangely, all the tests report a 1.0 Mbps u/l rate.:confused You're just fine man if your service is within a %20 range of advertised speed though it's never a %20 over eh?rolleyes:-D

    Hey Augie
I am ok with my speeds especially when there is a big update. I hate to wait for Windows to chug along.
I think I will consider Pc PitStop an intersting place to visit but it really holds nothing that I can use, to my knowledge.

Ya, I feel the same way, mostly useless.;) As to waiting for Windows to chug along, that's a new thread in the making.;)

Driver upgrades are tempting but I had an experience a while back which taught me not to upgrade a driver unless you have a problem.
However, I do see from your links that there are purposes for the site which could come in handy.
I used a program that was promoted by MG and my drivers resulted in an imge recovery. What an ordeal so now when I seee driver update I cringe. Don't let these comments detract from the fact that PC PitStop site has much to offer.
    Thank you.

I absolutely agree! If it ain't broke...! If the change log does not address your issue then you have to look elsewhere. The only thing that I ever consider updating is my video drivers. Plus I never ever allow Microsoft to ever update my drivers. There's so many sad people out there that did!
