Before we start here's my Computer's Specs..

    MOBO: ASUS P5VD2 VM-SE
    Processor: Pentium Dual Core e2200
    Graphics Card: Palit GT 220 1GB DDR2
    RAM: 1GB
    HDD: Hitachi 160GB
PSU: Across ATX Power Supply 600W (New. My old PSU is broken)
    OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

My Computer is powering on (psu, cpu and case fans, mobo led light are running) but it doesn't boot up. I tried all the possible solutions..

    Checked all the power connectors.
    Replacing CMOS Battery.
Removing the RAM and boot the PC. (I don't hear any beeps since i bought this PC)
Cleaning the RAM and it's slot.
Removing RAM and putting it to the other slot.
Removing Graphics Card then putting it back.
    Cleaning the whole CPU.

But none of this works. I noticed that my hard drive has not activity, if you know it's sound when opening the computer.. I don't hear it anymore. I tried the SATA power connector, i heard the activity sound but still.. not booting up. Before this problem i got the BSOD error about ntfs.sys file. Do you think my HDD is dead?

Did the boot problem happen on the first boot after replacing the power supply?

What is the BSOD error #? 0x0...024 by any chance?

    No.

I didn't get a chance to write the error # because it restarts after a few seconds.

I have this same problem with my Gateway SX2800-03. I do not know anything about computers so I am completely lost as I read these posts. My computer also lights up but it wont boot up. As I turn it on I push the F8 buttons and I have also tried the Alt+FN+F10 and nothing happens. I appreciate any help.

what is exacly the problem you do not see bios
or you can not boot on windows??
cause even if your hard drive is dead you could post
if you can post you can go and see in bios if bios see the harddrive if not seen

try to change cable and sata port on mobo to see if it will be recognized
    if not
then 99.99999999% the disk is dead
