PC Randomly "locking"

I am running Vista x64 and have been for quite some time.

Recently, my computer has been randomly going to the "locked" screen. The one you see if you do ctrl+alt+del > Lock this Computer.

I have no settings configured such that it should EVER lock itself automatically.

I've disconnected from the internet and it still does it. I've run virus and malware scanners and there's nothing suspicious that I've seen.


The timing of it is totally random, sometimes it will trigger after 10 seconds of idle time, other times it will go over an hour.

It doesn't do it if I'm actively doing something or if I have a movie maximized on either of my monitors.


Suggestions?

Just to make sure that this isn't what's happening, try going to Control Panel > Power Options and check that 'Require a password on wakeup' is not enabled. You might also check for any logon screen prompts for screensavers.

 

Done and Done.

All power settings are set to do essentially nothing. No sleeping, no standby, nothing.

I even disabled my screen saver to see if that was causing issues. but it has not helped.

Also, small correction, I meant to say Win7, not Vista. :-(

Okay - we'll do some more digging. Machine runs well otherwise?
