Are you asking how to copy games? Or playing some games and making a video of your gameplay?

Is this DVD recorder installed in your computer, is this a DVD recorder that is part of you home entertainment center?

    You could also use FRAPS.

There are 2 easy ways to do it. You can use FRAPS, then burn the video file to a DVD, which would probably be the easiest way.

Or, you can send your video signal out through the S-Video port on your video card and hook up your recorder to it.

is there any other way to record instead of using the s-video port?

another thing is i have tried the trial version of FRAPS and i recorded my file but the frame rate of the game recording is slow even at higher frames per second.

would the file work when burning it as a dvd video? because it says in the fraps website you need to have fraps installed in order to watch the recording?

    please help

    cheers!

FRAPS must convert the file to some type of video... As long as you have a codec for it, you should be able to convert it to some other type of compression. Namely MPEG-4.

thanks for the help with fraps!

so there is no other way of recording my games? just through the s-video port?

You can buy an adapter, and change it to a more standard composite video connection, if your recorder doesn't have S-Video in.

    hey again guys,

ive just connected my computer to the tv (s-video port) in the lounge room and it worked fine but there is no sound coming from the tv? what could be the problem? i want to record something while connected to the tv, will the sound be recorded even though i cant hear it?

also i connected the computer to the s-video port of the dvd recorder and the picture was really bad, the coolur was going nuts, and you could hardly read the writing on my desktop. is there a way of making it clearer just like it was through the tv?

If I did I would have posted it.

I've only done this via my digital video camera. That's all I know sorry.

There is a seperate connection that has to run from the audio card on the computer, to the audio inputs on the DVD recorder. The bluriness of the writing is an effect of improper screen resolution. Try resizing the display resolution on the computer, to 1024x768. That's what most TV's run, though yours might be different.

The color problems through the recorder, are because of the extra step. I've had a DVD player connected to my TV through the VCR, and it would fade in and out. Eliminating the extra step, stopped the fading problem. Yours should record acceptably, though without those audio inputs it's going to look wonky.

how would i get those audio inputs from my computer to the tv?

and what do you mean about eliminating the extra step?

  19. Triaxx2

    Triaxx2 MajorGeek

Eliminating the extra step is basically connecting the DVD player directly to the TV, instead of through a VCR.

The audio outputs should exist on the back of your sound card, but not all computers have them, and you certainly don't if your sound is onboard.

damn! i have an onboard sound card!

what are my other alternatives i can take to get sound?

    anyone gonna answer me?

  25. Triaxx2

    Triaxx2 MajorGeek

Only if the DVD recorder has as standard microphone connection, which is doubtful.
