PC will NOT start up!!

    I press the power button on my PC.
    I hear the drive gathering information.
    It freezes up on a blank(black) screen without loading anything!
    I have no keystroke control at all. When I try to push the power button , it do will not work. I must unplug the PC in order to turn it off.
    After I RE - plug the machine and hit the power button, IT STARTS UP WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL!!! WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!:confused
    Any help would be appreciated!
    I am running WinXP.

    This sounds like either a hardware or software issue. I am moving the thread to software so that once you straighten the problem out, you can start a new thread in malware if you are having malware issues. :)
