I'm new to these forums but I'm hoping someone can help me. I used Defender Offline to remove Alureon A from my computer (not this computer) and now it won't boot up. I've tried to do a repair using the disk that came with the PC and it didn't work. I can't even get to the windows home screen. If someone can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I ran the FRST program and came up with this text file. I'm attaching it. Thanks to anyone who can help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Download this >> View attachment fixlist.txt

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your flash drive.
Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now see if you can boot into normal Windows.

Still won't boot up. After it told me that it made the fix log I closed out everything and clicked restart on the system recovery bar. When I try to boot the pc it shows the Dell Inspiron screen with a blue bar loading at the bottom and F2, F12 options in the bottom right corner. After that it just goes to a black screen with a curser blinking. Maybe I did something wrong.

I'm attaching the fixlog. Hopefully it will be helpful. I appreciate all your efforts. Thank you.

    You're welcome.

Please run a new scan with FRST and attach a new log like you did in message #2.

Also can you tell me the exact date your problem began. A restore point from before this date could be helpful. I see the below restore points

I ran a new scan. Here are the results. I've tried restore dates and nothing happens. It's a mess bro.

Well we remove the remainder of the infection in the last fix and also took steps that have always repaired the damage cause by running Windows Defender Offline (WDO). We have probably repaired way more than 100 PCs this way. So I'm not sure why this did not work. Perhaps this is a newer form of infection and something else is hiding, or perhaps WDO is causing more damage then it used to. Or perhaps the fact that you attempted a repair has cause problems.

Please rerun a new scan with FRST like you first did and attach a new log.

Do you have all your important data backed up? You may be looking at a reinstall.

Sorry for the delayed response. My boss finally got fed up and called an IT guy who came and fixed it. We bought a new hard drive installed windows and he transferred all the programs and configured everything with our network. He also updated all our systems with new virus and spyware protection.

Long story short, everything works now. I don't know what went wrong with the fixes but it's all done now. Thanks for your efforts. It's nice to know if I run into any problems you guys are willing to help. On the bright side I did learn a lot. Take care.
