    XP Professional
    256 MB RAM
    80 GB HD
    ATAPI - BENQ 52x32 CD-RW
    Board (info from Belarc) P4X266-8233
    Bus Clock: 100 Megahertz
    Bios: Award Software International
    Via Technologies, Inc.

    Modem will not dial up.
    Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers
Uninstalled, rebooted and it found the drivers
"drivers funtioning properly" (it always says that no matter what driver is not)
I pulled a new modem out of another PC we're building and it's doing the same thing.
    Upon booting, a message appears:
No PCtel Modem, PV92 Tray will be Closed
    Any ideas?

    HA
That's exactly what I did and then came back to check the board and there you were :)
It's good to know the answer was there in case my brain hadn't taken me there.
I thought I'd done everthing and then I decided to just move it as a last resort.
    VOILA !!!
    Thank you again.

Not really, I have seen modems only work in a slot they like, try something else in that slot and it just might work.
