I have an old laptop that I restarted and am trying to clean. I found it had alureon on it. When I ran Windows defender offline it did what most others have done, and just put the laptop into a constant state of reboot and trying to fix itself. I ran FRST64 and created a log that I am attaching here. any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Jeff

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Actually what it did to your PC may be even worse. Yours is reporting things like the Windows OS is missing. The below standard fix may not help with this:

    Download this >> fixlist.txt

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your flash drive.
Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now see if you can boot into normal Windows

I ran the fix, it didnt work. After looking at what that does, I already ran the fixboot, and fixmbr with no success. Im now moving on to the process of manually removing the pictures and important stuff off of the drive, and I guess ill just reload windows. Thanks for your help.

You're welcome. Yeah, I did not expect it would work. As stated, your OS appears to be missing based on the first FRST log. It's possible that rebuilding the BCD ( with bcdedit )could work. This is something better off discussed in the Software Forum.
