    Hi

My pc stopped starting after I updated the BIOS.
Today I updated the bios for the first time since I bought the motherboard in 2017. I want to sell my pc and therefore I wanted to update it.
I have a MSI PRO Carbon gaming motherboard so I went on msi support site and downloaded it onto a USB flash drive. I rebooted the pc and put the USB Drive back in the usb port. Then I went into the Flash drive mode in the BIOS and choose to update the BIOS
After it had installed I pulled out the flash drive and then the pc proceed to rebooted but when it turned back on again it went dirrect to a blue recovery screen. Short after I wasn't able to use my keyboard or mouse so I can't enter the BIOS. The error code I get is 0xc000000f

I have plugged the PC out of the power for now.
    The system I use is:
    MOBO: MSI Pro Carbon Gaming
    CPU: i5-8600k
    GPU: 1060 6gb
    PSU Corsair RMX550
    SSD/BOOT drive: Samsung EVO 970 500gb
    HDD: Seagate 1TB
RAM: Corsair vengance 16 gb 3200mhz
    AIO cooler: Corsair H100i PRO
    Case: Nzxt s340
    Operating system: Windows 10

Hope there is help out there.
THX in advance and happy new year

In my computer lifetime, I've owned 16 computers so far. In that time, I've updated the BIOS exactly twice. Once I was instructed by the manufacturer, HP, to do so. They gave me very specific printed instructions as to what I had to do. (Windows ME laptop) The other time was to solve a very specific problem: the screen on a laptop turned black every time I attempted to install Windows 2000. I advise anyone who asks not to update the BIOS unless there is a problem. Then you go to the manufacturer's website and read the text that accompanies the BIOS to see what issues it solves. If you problem isn't mentioned, you forget updating the BIOS.

There was no reason to update the BIOS unless you were having a specific problem. A bad BIOS update or the wrong BIOS update can render a computer unbootable as you have discovered.

At this point, you might have to install the previous BIOS, if that is even possible.

Do you have Windows install media or a Macrium recovery drive?
If you have the Macrium boot USB then use this to boot the PC & use their fix boot option.
If you have Windows install media then use this to boot to recovery, choose repair>troubleshoot>Advanced Options to get to the cmd prompt & enter:
    BOOTREC /FIXMBR
    BOOTREC /FIXBOOT
    If these fail then try:
    BOOTREC /RebuildBcd

I made it work. I found out that it tried to boot from the wrong drive. I changed which drive to boot of and then it work.

But thanks for the answer and the information on updating bios. I had no idea that it will happen and your right cause I had no problems at all so there where no reason to do it.
