Will PC800 Rambus RAM downclock to run PC600? I have never used RAMBUS ram before, don't want to buy some PC800 and find out it won't clock down.

Dependent on motherboard the PC800 will be downrated to PC600, but also remember you will need to get two exact spec rambus modules ( speed and density ) to run in this motherboard as Rambus is dual channel, plus if their is 4 ram slots you will need a CRIMM ( Continuity Module which fools the mobo into thinking all the slots are full, again PC will not boot without this )

What is the Motherboard your using?

    heres another link

    http://www.upgrade-solution.com/productlist.cfm

looking at getting a couple of 512 mb sticks from here myself

wish I'd found this site last year, the 512 mb sticks are cheaper than the 256 mb sticks i got last year

I think you will be hard pressed to find 256 mb sticks any cheaper than the link StudioT supplied
