Hey everyone, i've got a ms-7046 ver-1 mb that i have just reformated the hd and reinstalled XP. Just got a problem with the PCI driver, it cannot be found. I've tried to delete the driver as my other pc does not have it but upon reboot windows installs it again.

Supplied cd that came with pc does not have such a driver, do i really need it?

    Any help will be appreciated.

If you want help your going to have to be more specific about what your talking about. For starters you need to list a proper model number, as what you wrote means nothing to me. Is that a driver name?
You contadict yourself when you say the driver can't be found but then you say you uninstall it. Your not making much sense.

I believe that's an MSI motherboard, but not finding it in a quick search at MSI.

Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
    Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

When i get this mysterious "PCI device" in the device manager, it is usually a faxmodem or sound driver that for some reason is just labeled as "PCI device" until you install it. I would look for any drivers you are missing. For example, if you have a dial-up modem and the device manager doesn't show it, "PCI device" may be it. If you don't have sound drivers installed and you don't see it on the list, "PCI device" may be it.

If his problem is a yellow exlamation point in Device Manager then he should search for and run "Unknown Device Identifier" its helped me out on a few occasions.

EDIT: Apparently he solved this one with another post near by for a sound issue.
